The Polar Express

The Polar Express was released on November 10, 2004 in the US. Initially, I personally had no interest in watching it. After all, Tom Hanks just wasn’t a voice I had ever associated with Christmas. However, many years later I watched it with friends who were visiting and quickly learned I had been missing out! I had always thought of Tom Hanks as a completely brilliant actor, with the ability to make you feel exactly what his character is feeling. Lending his voice to 5 different characters in this animated gem, plus narrating the story as told from the perspective of a boy who is losing his faith in Santa Claus, Tom Hanks is brilliant yet again. The story leads us on a magical journey to the North Pole, and ever closer to a young boy learning to BELIEVE again. The graphics are spot on, depicting a snowy atmosphere and warm, cozy interiors. The child voice actors also performed very well. And the music fits so well with the atmosphere and situations. With both the original theme and wonderfully chosen classic Christmas music the likes of Perry Como and Bing Crosby, The Polar Express is sure to feed your Christmas excitement or help bring you there. Merry Christmas!

I'm Dasher, and my name is Mike. I love the Christmas season and thoroughly enjoy the time of year from October through New Years.
