Arthur Christmas on Blu-Ray Today (Nov. 6)

Arthur ChristmasA new animated Christmas movie is out on blu-ray today. Released on November 23rd, 2011, Arthur Christmas follows the youngest son of Santa as he embarks on a mission that must be complete before Christmas morning. The story reveals Santa’s vast, high-tech operation hidden deep under the North Pole. Arthur is voiced by James McAvoy, which you might remember from X-Men: First Class as a young Charles Xavier. He also did voice acting in Gnomeo & Juliet, and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as Mr. Tumnus. Voice acting for Steve is Hugh Laurie, probably best known as the star of the television series, House, but has also done voice acting for Stuart Little and Monsters & Aliens. Next we have Bill Nighy, who played Philip in Shaun of the Dead, as the voice of Grand Santa. Arthur Christmas, primarily filmed in the UK, grossed £2,112,516 (UK) and $46,440,491 (USA). I haven’t seen the movie yet myself, but now that it is out, I’ll be picking it up this weekend! Reviews are mostly positive, with a 7.0 star rating at IMDB.com. At RottenTomatoes.com, Arthur receives a very warm welcome with 91% fresh and 78% of audience likes. I rarely pay much attention to movie critics, but from what I’ve seen so far, Arthur Christmas looks like a good one that those of us who have never seen it can explore together.

I'm Dasher, and my name is Mike. I love the Christmas season and thoroughly enjoy the time of year from October through New Years.
